Who We Are

Shekinah Presbyterian Church Tanzania (SPCT) is a Presbyterian Christian denomination serving congregations across Tanzania. “Shekinah” is a Hebrew term meaning Divine dwelling/presence, and “Presbyterian” reflects a biblical model of church governance led by elders.

SPCT exists to glorify God and proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ, while nurturing believers and supporting the holistic well-being of God’s people in accordance with the Reformed faith.

Vision

From the beginning, Shekinah carried a clear spiritual identity expressed in its motto:
“The True Word, The True Gospel, True Freedom.” (Neno Halisi, Injili Halisi na Uhuru halisi)

Its vision is to preach the true, unaltered Word of God, proclaim the Gospel without shame, and declare true freedom to those bound by various chains.

Mission

SPCT’s mission remains constant: to glorify God and proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ, strengthening fellowship and pursuing the holistic well-being of God’s people in line with the Reformed faith.

In practice, SPCT pursues this mission through four major objective areas: Spiritual, Educational Social and Economic
